Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug (NSAID) derived from oxicam. Meloxicam acts by inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis exerting anti-inflammatory, anti-exudative, analgesic and antipyretic effects. It reduces leukocyte infiltration into the inflamed tissue.
